Yearlong market in the center of Nuremberg, where regional and international specialties are sold.

In the center of Nuremberg’s Old Town, there is a yearlong market with a large selection of regional foods from Monday to Friday. Spreading on an area of about 500 square meters, the fresh fruit, vegetables, meat, sausages, cheese, eggs, pastries, fish, cakes, gingerbread, flowers and other regional and international specialties are sold in the colorful stands.

Main Market Square also serves as a cultural center, where people stop for coffee, chat or just enjoy the medieval atmosphere of the century-old square.

During Advent, the market turns into the Christmas Market (Christkindlmarkt), which is opened by the Nuremberg Christmas Angel. The world-famous Christmas market is becoming a destination for tourists from all over the world who come here to enjoy the traditional German pre-Christmas atmosphere, accompanied by the bouquet of mulled wine, Nuremberg gingerbread and baked sausages.
