Ship of Fools

The Ship of Fools is a fountain from 1984–1987, which was designed (like the Marriage Carousel) by Jürgen Weber from Braunschweig.
Address: Plobenhofstraße 10, 90403 Nürnberg

The bronze statue, 3,60 meters high, shows a world threatened with destruction by means of biblical figures.

The Ship of Fools was created in 1984-1987 by the sculptor Jürgen Weber, as well as the fountain "The Spouses` Carousel". In the 1990s, negotiations about the final transformation of the statue into a fountain began. However, the negotiations led nowhere, and the ship is still sailing on a dry land.
